Product Description

Fool’s Day highlights the decline in value society has placed on the emotional and psychologic relationship between parent and child in contemporary Nigeria. It is a dramatic survey of the Nigerian family unit – the epicentre of the Nigerian society. Through the prism of comedy, this play touches on the serious issues that parents could face when they see their only priority as providing for their children’s financial well-being.

Featuring Toyin Buraimoh, Bunmi Sogade, Joy Akrah, Samson Balogun, Blessing Nwabuisi and many more under the creative direction of Austine Onuoha, Femi Oke‘s play is increasingly relevant today as labour economics force parents to make stark choices. This a hilarious contemporary piece that holds up a mirror to society’s value system. Will society like how it looks?

The play was hilarious. We thoroughly enjoyed it. There was suspense until the end. We would never guess it was all April’s fool. We recommend it for families.

    :

Totally hilarious!!!! I couldn’t stop laughing throughout the show. The actors were amazing- they really got into their roles. The story line was easy to follow. I really liked the fact that the show was based on everyday life that everyone (make, female, young or old) could all relate to and learn something from. Wished it was longer
Just got to say the opening act was great!!! Loved the music. Great songs, voice and guitar playing.

I enjoyed it very much. The scenes weren’t dragged out for too long and the actors were in character throighout. However, I thought the play to be short. This might be because I enjoyed it so much I lost track of time. He he. Good job, guys!

Fool’s Day was every bit of exciting. From the stage lights coming on, to lights out. For me, it highlighted a major challenge in some rich homes where parents think money and providing all the wants of kids substitutes for time that should be spent with them. This was presented in a comical but incisive manner. The casts were superb – interpreted their roles. I liked the fact that it was short but direct – I’m pretty sure everyone got the message. Looking forward to more productions at Twilight Theatre. Kudos!

Fools day was as the name suggests but there was a twist from the start that took our minds from the normal pranks, the moral lesson was passed and under all the fun and excitement there were lessons learnt.

Good attempt, with time they will carve a niche for themselves in the theatre industry.

    Kudos guys
